CityVille Shipping Upgrade Goals: Everything you need to know

As you go through the multi-step Pier Upgrade process in CityVille, which will allow you to expand the size and Goods storage capacity of your docks, you'll also be asked to complete a series of five themed goals, given to you by Captain Rusty. These goals offer limited edition items, as well Freighters and the like, so let's get started on a guide showing you exactly how to complete them.

Dock Star

    Have a Level 2 Pier
    Unlad from a Boat 10 Times
    Unload from a Freighter Once

The Level 2 Pier is earned by completing the Pier upgrade process, which involves collecting 30 building materials with the help of friends. Make sure to check out our guide to Shipping Pier Upgrades to learn exactly what those items are. When you complete this goal, you'll receive the Harbor Master's Office building, a Community Building that allows for 4,000 citizens to live in your town. You'll need six staff members to finish its construction.

Sunken Treasure

    Have 3 Piers
    Have 2 Freighters
    Have 10,000 Goods

By adding these additional Piers, you'll get closer to the 10,000 Goods storage capacity, as each one adds to that maximum storage. If you don't have that amount of storage already, this goal will likely be a bit time consuming, but once you finish it, you'll receive a Special Freighter, which offers 50% more Goods when it returns from Shipping Contracts.

Lonely Island

    Collect from Natural History Museum 2 Times
    Collect from Coffee Shop 5 Times
    Ask for 8 Cell Phones

Cell Phones are earned through a wall post. You'll receive a Coffee Table for finishing this goal, which is a decorative item offering a 15% payout bonus.

Super Freighter!

    Have a Level 3 Pier
    Unload from a Freighter 3 Times
    Unload from a Super Freighter Once

The Super Freighters cost even more than the regular Freighters, but luckily, you only need to have one of them for this goal. As for upgrading your Pier to Level 3, you'll need to collect the same building materials as before, but in larger quantities. If you finish this goal, you'll receive a Special Super Freighter, which gives 175% more Goods than traditionally received from the same Shipping Contract.

Bigger Fish to Fry

    Have 20,000 Goods
    Have 2 Level 3 Piers
    Unload from a Special Super Freighter once

This will likely be the most time consuming goal of them all, as you'll need to complete both levels of Pier upgrades on two separate Piers, along with ensuring (either through these upgrades or by simply purchasing more Piers) that you can store 20,000 Goods at one time. If you can meet these hefty requirements, you'll receive the Harbor Master's Boat as your reward for this final goal. It gives a 4% payout bonus to nearby homes and businesses, and is strictly a decoration.

These goals are definitely some of the most time consuming and gift-request-specific we've seen released in quite some time. It doesn't look like they'll be leaving the game anytime soon, so feel free to take your time with completing them, or even put them off for a while, until you've finished more pressing things in your city.

What do you think of these Shipping Upgrade goals? Do you use the Shipping / Pier feature a lot already, or are you one that sticks to farming instead?

CityVille Governor's Run Act 3 Vance Goals: Everything you need to know

We've finally made it, mayors. The final part of Act 3 in the Governor's Run event in CityVille has finally be released, and if you've kept on top of things thus far, you'll have just one more Big Business representative to please: Vance. Vance may have a lot of money, but he likes to give back to charity too, and you'll need to help him do just that to earn his vote.

Charity Case

    Ask for 10 Stuffed Animals
    Collect from Emergency Clinic or Hospital three Times
    Collect from Toy Store or Toy Tower 10 Times

For this goal, you'll need to ask your friends for the Stuffed Animals via a general news post placed on your wall. The Hospital / Emergency Clinic requirement doesn't require one or the other, so feel free to collect from both and save yourself some time. Finish this first goal and you'll receive the Charity Medical building, a Community Building that requires 12 staff members to operate, and offers a boost of 11,500 citizens to your maximum population cap.

Partners in Crime

    Ask for 10 Fingerprints
    Have a Level 5 Police Station
    Capture 9 Bandits

This one might take you some time, depending on how dedicated you've been in capturing robbers to upgrade your Police Station. You'll need to capture nine of them for this goal alone, so at least that's a nice boost if you need it. Just remember to collect from businesses to have a chance to spawn bandits, and to always keep your police officers stocked with donuts. Finishing this goal gives you the Valor Industries building, a business that requires 500 Goods, but supplies 3,472 coins when done.

Ear to the Street

    Ask for 10 Cell Phone Videos
    Collect from Salvador's 9 Times
    Unload 15 Sydney Sailboats

If you'll recall, Salvador's was another business you've unlocked during this Big Business section of the Governor's Run event. As for the Sydney Sailboats, these take eight hours to return, giving you time to wait for your friends to send you the Cell Phone Videos at the same time. Completing this goal gives you the Suspicious Meeting item, a decoration that gives you a 12% payout bonus to surrounding homes and businesses.

Wing Man

    Ask for 5 Council Recommendations
    Collect from City Hall, Court House or Capital Building nine times
    Collect from Valor Industries 5 times

Again, the Community Building requirement doesn't involve choosing a specific building, so collect from all three at once, three days in a row, to finish this one off as quickly as possible. This marks the end of the Big Business series, and the end of the Governor's Run event as a whole, and for finishing this particular goal, you'll receive the Valor Mansion. Valor Mansion is a home that offers 3,600-6,600 population, and 525 coins in rent every day.

For finishing this entire Big Business trio of goals you'll receive the Liberty Monument, and if you've finished all three Acts, you'll receive the Statue of Liberty. There still isn't a time limit on these goals, so if you've been concentrating on other things, you can still make up for lost time by starting now. Just make sure that you do complete them eventually, as I doubt Zynga will allow them to stick around forever...

What do you think of these final goals in the Governor's Run event? How close are you to completing the entire thing? Have you already finished Acts 1 and 2 in their entirety?

CityVille Governor's Run Family Goals: Everything you need to know

In your quest to become Governor in CityVille, you've had to help the farmers and the toy makers, but now it's time to look a little closer to home. Your third and final portion of Act I of this event will see you earning a family's vote in your campaign. Specifically, you're looking to impress the Stumpford family (remember them from the Family Vacation goals released back in August?). Why the Stumpfords wouldn't automatically be on your side after helping them before is anyone's guess, but here's how to earn their vote of confidence officially.

Family Matters

    * Ask friends for 10 Magazine Subscriptions
    * Collect from the Executive Driving Range 4 times
    * Collect from Community Pool 6 times

As you might have guessed, the Magazine Subscriptions are earned via a general news post you'll post to your wall asking all of your friends to help you at once. As for the Executive Driving Range, this is the game's newest attraction that you can find the guide to building right here. Finally, the Community Pool is a Community Building that can be purchased from the store for 150,000 coins. By finishing this first goal, you'll receive a prize of 85 coins.

School of Thought

    * Ask for 15 Tutors
    * Upgrade Middle School to Level 3
    * Harvest 70 Brussel Sprouts

The 15 Tutors, again, need to be earned via friends. As for the Middle School, you've been able to upgrade this particular Community Building since late August, but if you don't have it done already, you can check out our guide to doing just that. Finally, Brussel Sprouts are available to plant for 48 coins and are ready to harvest after eight hours. Finishing this second of three goals gives you 4,500 coins.

Exterior Decorator

    * Ask friends for 20 Street Sweepers
    * Remodel 6 Residences
    * Unwither 24 Neighbor Crops

If you have any friends that stopped playing the game and left some crops growing (which most of us probably do), you should have no problem finding 24 individual squares to unwither. Just click on them when visiting friends' towns and you'll finish that task fast. For the residence remodeling task, this can turn into an expensive one, depending on the houses you choose to upgrade and the particular upgrades themselves, but you can see how to start the process in our guide. Finishing this final goal will complete your work with the Stumpfords (although I'm sure they'll be back in another feature in the future), and you'll receive the Mega Nail Salon business as a reward. This is a massive building that requires 410 Goods but supplies 3,050 coins each time those Goods are used.

Again, after you finish helping the Stumpfords (so long as you've also finished with the farmers and toy makers), you'll have finished the first portion of the Governor's Run event, but there's still a lot more waiting down the line. As the event continues to expand, we'll make sure to give you all of the details you need, so keep checking back with us!

CityVille Neighborhood Goals: Everything you need to know

To go along with the launch of the new Neighborhoods feature in CityVille, there's also a goal set to complete as well. If you remember, these Neighborhoods allow you to store homes for easier bulk access, and also just to generally save space (a huge factor in the game to this day). This goal series starts with one called Neighborhood Watch! (or, "On the House," if you prefer), which sees you simply placing a Neighborhood into your town to get used to the feature.

Neighborhood Watch!

    * Build a Neighborhood
    * Place 2 Residences into a Neighborhood

As we told you in our guide to Neighborhoods, they come in three varieties (currently) and range in price from 10,000 to 20,000 coins, depending on the kind of home you are trying to store (basic residences, apartments or vacation homes). Once you complete the construction of the Neighborhood, you'll be given these two storage spaces for free, so just fill them up and complete the goal! You'll receive a cute Garden Gnome decoration as a prize.

Block Party

    * Ask for 6 Neighborhood Event Posters
    * Place one more Residence into your Neighborhood
    * Place a Garden Gnome Decoration

Luckily, there's a "Place" button right next to this final task, so you don't have to search through your inventory to find the Garden Gnome manually. In the meantime, you'll need to ask a single friend to help you open up that new slot in your Neighborhood so that you can store your third residence. Finally, the Event Posters can be earned by posting a general news item to your wall. For finishing this second goal, you'll receive a Family Home residence, which gives you 90-170 population.

Movin' On Up

    * Unlock Block 2
    * Fill Block 2

As we told you in our guide, to unlock the next block of your Neighborhood, you'll need to collect building materials with the help of friends. Once you've unlocked the second block, you'll also need to gather more staff to unlock the final slots on that block, and then fill it completely with homes. Finishing this goal gives you the Neighborhood Watch item, a watch-tower that takes up a 2x2 area on your land and provides a 5% bonus to surrounding buildings.

Welcome Wagon

    * Ask for 8 Neighborhood Bake Sale Goodies
    * Build a second Neighborhood
    * Fill one Neighborhood

This goal will likely take you the longest to complete, as it requires collecting even more building ingredients than before, and even more staff to completely fill one neighborhood to its max of 15 houses. Finishing off this final goal of the series gives you the Deluxe Tree House.

All in all, these goals don't really require rushing, but as I'm sure most of you will likely want to build Neighborhoods for your own space-saving plans, you'll eventually finish them off with time.
